Securing Texas
Problem(s)- Texas faces serious security threats including a surge in illegal immigration from Latin America and around the world. The cost of border control is borne by Texans in taxes, while our crime increases and our infrastructure services like roads, schools, and hospitals are negatively affected.
Texas also faces attacks from foreign adversaries like China, Russia, Iran and their terrorist proxies. Even a September 2024 meeting of the Texas House Select Committee on Securing Texas from Hostile Foreign Organizations was hacked.
Solution(s)- Scott will focus on the following solutions to help ensure Texas’ security:
Creating a dedicated Department (e.g. Homeland Security, Border Force) to better address and handle such threats.
Ensuring mandatory fines and jail time for individuals and institutions that assist illegal entry and/or incite physical or cyber-attacks.
Requiring the use of E-Verify by all employers in Texas with significant penalties for business owners who violate this requirement.
Stopping all free government services for illegal immigrants.
We need to have a serious response to all foreign threats facing Texas. We need a robust security plan to protect our land, our people, our data and all of our infrastructure. Scott can assist in this vital work to lay the foundation for legislation in 2025 and beyond.
