Scott Firsing is excited to earn your support and return it tenfold by supporting our shared values in the Texas political system.  

Known to many as Dr Scott, with multiple academic degrees including a doctorate in International Politics, Scott’s career has revolved around education in domestic and foreign policy as well as innovative technology. Scott has formerly been a university international relations professor, a K-12 school principal, a foreign policy correspondent, and is now a small business owner. Scott, a problem solver, values many things, but above all else:

Son to an Registered Nurse and a Princeton and MIT Lab Director,  Scott grew up in the multi-cultural Princeton, New Jersey area with a blue-collar work ethic. Scott respects a hard-earned dollar and also appreciates the collaborative innovation that comes from working well with different kinds of people. 

Scott worked his way through college, relying only on himself, and soon found himself working for institutions such as the United Nations and assisting the US State Department and our military. Scott spent 10 years living in South Africa where his expertise was frequently relied upon to offer political insight into foreign policy issues for sources such as the BBC, CNBC, and Al Jazeera.

Now an Austinite since 2016, Scott runs his own Austin based consulting business. He works with some of the world’s most innovative aviation companies alongside his beautiful wife Taylor and their five children. Scott and his family love the outdoors and want to see Austin’s great parks returned to their former glory. 

The 47th district of Austin, Texas is home. Scott will fight for his neighbors and his community. He will use his experience working with both Republicans and Democrats, his extensive knowledge, and our shared values to make sure we have sensible solutions to our communities problems. Together we will make our area an even better place for us all.
