Dr Scott Firsing, international scholar, entrepreneur and 2024 Political Candidate for the Texas House of Representatives has provided his expertise on multiple important topics over recent months. This includes Texas’ and America’s space ambitions, border technology and other important policy topics. Below are some of the highlights:

  • The Texas Space Commission was recently unveiled by Governor Greg Abbott at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. The Texas State Legislature and Abbott’s goal is to cement Texas’ position as a national leader in the space industry.

The timing is important because there is not stopping this new global space race. It is a race requiring a vast amount of money and brain power, hence the necessity for space diplomacy. The expanding BRICS alliance does pose a formidable competition for America. This means space diplomacy will grow in foreign policy importance.

  • The US presidential election is ramping up and polls continuously show illegal immigration at or near the top of the critical threat to America list.

This topic has been prevalent throughout the course of human history. We have employed diverse methods to address the problem of unwelcome individuals with harmful intentions. Dr Scott looks at some of the world’s most advanced border technology for the Dallas Express: https://dallasexpress.com/opinion/opinion-the-worlds-most-advanced-border-control-projects/

  • As the United States celebrated Memorial Day weekend, a Chinese lunar lander from their Chang’e-6 mission successfully touched down on the far side of the Moon in early June, aiming to collect 2 kilograms of rock samples—a historic first for this unexplored region of the Moon. Dr Scott investigates China’s vision for our Moon as the New Space Race Intensifies: https://intpolicydigest.org/china-sets-sights-on-the-moon-again-as-new-space-race-intensifies/

  • For one of his alma maters the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Dr Scott writes about America’s concern about the speed of China’s progress in outer space.
