Endorsement: Texas Governor Greg Abbott
AUSTIN, TX - September 23, 2024 - Texas Governor Greg Abbott announces his endorsement of Scott Firsing PhD for the Texas House of Representatives District 47 highlighting Scott's commitment to economic growth, education and continued tax relief for Texans.
Governor Abbott stated, "Scott will be a great leader and public servant for the people of House District 47.” He added, “As a lifelong educator and small business owner, Scott will work with me to empower parents to choose their child’s education pathway and provide more property tax relief to Texans.”
In response, Scott said he is “grateful and proud to receive the endorsement of Governor Abbott. The Governor is a leader that understands that our state’s success hinges on policies that protect our citizens, empower our businesses and properly educate our youth. We both deeply want Texas to remain a leader in energy production and job creation for years and decades to come."
A first-time politician who is answering a calling to help, Scott holds several higher education degrees including a Doctorate in International Politics. He is a graduate of esteemed institutions such as the London School of Economics and Political Science and Rutgers University and has taught at The Citadel: The Military College of South Carolina among other universities around the world.
Scott believes his diverse professional experience as a consultant, policy analyst, University Professor, a K-12 school principal, and spending 10+ years living overseas, gives him formidable insight to identify and implement effective solutions to the most pressing issues Texans face.
